Throughout much of my Mother’s life she felt frustrated at her lack of power and control. As I’ve matured I’ve become so appreciative of what a truly powerful woman she was and how indelibly she shaped the lives of the people around her. Being controlling and domineering is not considered a very feminine way to behave and power has been defined by men for many centuries. It is long overdue to define for ourselves what it means to be powerful and influential and to appreciate our power and control by our own standards.
