Joomla! is a free Content Management System (CMS) for creating websites and is the most popular open source CMS available.  The word Joomla is Swahili for "all together" or "as a whole".   Joomla! is often compared to Drupal, another open source CMS and is usually described as being more user friendly with a gentler learning curve than Drupal.
